Roast Turkey with Vegetable Wine Sauce PDF Print E-mail

Thanksgiving Recipes - Roast Turkey with Vegetable Wine Sauce

Ingredients:
600 g Turkey drumsticks
2 tablespoons Olive oil
2 tablespoon Meat tenderizer
1 teaspoon Pepper
1 teaspoon Ground thyme
1 teaspoon Ground basil

Sauce
2 Potatoes
200 g Carrot
1 Onion
2 Tomatoes
2 stalks Fresh celery
1 stalk Fresh leek
1 teaspoon Salt
1000 ml Water
250 ml Red wine 

Procedures:

  1. Cut the turkey drumsticks into 2 cm think pieces.
  2. Season with olive oil, meat tenderizer, pepper, ground thyme and ground basil.
  3. Mix well and set aside to marinate for 20 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 170°C, gas 3.
  5. Roast in the oven for 30 minutes until cooked thorough and golden brown.
  6. Dish out and set aside.
  7. Make the sauce. Cut pottatoes, carrot, onion tomatoes, celery and leek into small pieces.
  8. Add all the vegetables in a sauce pan and pour in water.
  9. Bring to the boil, simmer over medium heat for 30 minutes until the vegetables are cooked thoroughly and soft.
  10. Remove from heat, pound the sauce and vegetables into a food processer until become gravy.
  11. Strain well and set aside.
  12. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan. Add the sauce and bring to the boil.
  13. Cook and stir over medium heat until the sauce is slightly thick.
  14. Add red wine and salt, cook for a while.
  15. Pour the sauce over the roasted turkey.
  16. Drizzled with ground bail and thyme.
  17. Serve hot.
