Thanksgiving Recipes - Roast Turkey with Vegetable Wine Sauce Ingredients: 600 g Turkey drumsticks 2 tablespoons Olive oil 2 tablespoon Meat tenderizer 1 teaspoon Pepper 1 teaspoon Ground thyme 1 teaspoon Ground basil Sauce 2 Potatoes 200 g Carrot 1 Onion 2 Tomatoes 2 stalks Fresh celery 1 stalk Fresh leek 1 teaspoon Salt 1000 ml Water 250 ml Red wine Procedures: - Cut the turkey drumsticks into 2 cm think pieces.
- Season with olive oil, meat tenderizer, pepper, ground thyme and ground basil.
- Mix well and set aside to marinate for 20 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 170°C, gas 3.
- Roast in the oven for 30 minutes until cooked thorough and golden brown.
- Dish out and set aside.
- Make the sauce. Cut pottatoes, carrot, onion tomatoes, celery and leek into small pieces.
- Add all the vegetables in a sauce pan and pour in water.
- Bring to the boil, simmer over medium heat for 30 minutes until the vegetables are cooked thoroughly and soft.
- Remove from heat, pound the sauce and vegetables into a food processer until become gravy.
- Strain well and set aside.
- Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan. Add the sauce and bring to the boil.
- Cook and stir over medium heat until the sauce is slightly thick.
- Add red wine and salt, cook for a while.
- Pour the sauce over the roasted turkey.
- Drizzled with ground bail and thyme.
- Serve hot.
