Christmas Recipes - English Muffin Ingredients : 450 g All-purpose flour 1 Teaspoon full of sugar 1 Teaspoon salt 15 g Active yeast 275 ml Warm milk (30°C/86°F) Procedures :
- Dissolve the yeast in milk with sugar and salt.
- Leave to rest 10 minutes.
- The mixture should become mossy.
- Sift the flour into a large bowl and make a well in the centre.
- Pour the milk mixture in it.
- Mix by hand, form a ball.
- On a lightly floured surface, knead for ~10 minutes.
- Roll into a ball and put in a large bowl.
- Cover and leave to rise for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- Knead for 1 minutes.
- Pat the dough, must be 1 cm thick.
- Cut 8 cm wide rounds with a cookie cutter.
- Put on a baking.
- Leave to rise 15 minutes.
- Using a large pan, cook the muffins 5-7 minutes on each side, on medium heat.
- Once cooked, the muffins should be golden and when hitting the bottom sound hollow.
