Halloween Recipes - Ham in Blood

Ingredients:
1 kg Salted ham, boneless
350 ml Water
150 ml Blackcurrant juice
2 cloves Garlic, sliced
1 piece Root ginger
1 stick Cinnamon
Parsley sprigs

Sauce
4 teaspoon Cornflour
100 ml Water
Salt and freshly ground black pepper 

Procedures:

  1. Boil the water in a pan and add in blackcurrant juice, garlic, ginger, cinnamon and parsley.
  2. Put the ham in the boiling liquid, simmer and covered for 20 minutes.
  3. Turn the ham over and simmer for further 20 minutes.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat and leave the ham in the liquid.
  5. To make the sauce. Strain the cooking liquid into a saucepan.
  6. Mix together the cornflour and water. Beat into the cooking liquid.
  7. Bring to the boil, add salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Cut the ham into slices and place on a serving dish.
  9. Pour a little sauce over the ham and serve with boiled mangetout, baby carrots, potatoes and pickled fresh cucumber.
