Halloween Recipes - Ham in Blood
Ingredients: 1 kg Salted ham, boneless 350 ml Water 150 ml Blackcurrant juice 2 cloves Garlic, sliced 1 piece Root ginger 1 stick Cinnamon Parsley sprigs Sauce 4 teaspoon Cornflour 100 ml Water Salt and freshly ground black pepper Procedures:
- Boil the water in a pan and add in blackcurrant juice, garlic, ginger, cinnamon and parsley.
- Put the ham in the boiling liquid, simmer and covered for 20 minutes.
- Turn the ham over and simmer for further 20 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the heat and leave the ham in the liquid.
- To make the sauce. Strain the cooking liquid into a saucepan.
- Mix together the cornflour and water. Beat into the cooking liquid.
- Bring to the boil, add salt and pepper to taste.
- Cut the ham into slices and place on a serving dish.
- Pour a little sauce over the ham and serve with boiled mangetout, baby carrots, potatoes and pickled fresh cucumber.
