New Year Recipes - Pickled Baltic Herring with Sauce
Ingredients: 1 kg Baltic herring Dill, finely chopped Marinade 1 litre Water 100 ml Vinegar 2 tablespoons Salt Sauce 200 ml Mayonnaise 200 ml Sour cream 2 tablespoons Mustard 1 clove Garlic, crushed Procedures: - Fillet the herring and remove skin.
- Mix the marinade and add in the herring fillets.
- Keep in the refrigerator to marinate overnight.
- Mix the sauce. Drain the herrings thoroughly and place them in the sauce.
- Keep in the refrigerator for a day.
- Add in finely chopped dill as garnish.
- Serve with boiled potatoes, bread and butter.
