Thanksgiving Recipes - Baked Cheese Potatoes

Ingredients:
1 kg Potatoes
3 tablespoons Butter
Salt and ground white pepper
120 g Emmental cheese, grated

Procedures:

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C , gas mark 7.
  2. Grease a large ovenproof dish with 1 tablespoon of the butter.
  3. Cut the potatoes into slices all the way through, but keeping the slices in position so that the potatoes look whole.
  4. Place the potatoes in the dish close to each others.
  5. Press down to make the slices fan out slightly.
  6. Baste with the butter and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle over the grated cheese.
  9. Baste the potatoes with butter.
  10. Bake in the oven for further 30 minutes until the potatoes are soft inside, golden and crunchy on the outside.
