Thanksgiving Recipes - Baked Cheese Potatoes Ingredients: 1 kg Potatoes 3 tablespoons Butter Salt and ground white pepper 120 g Emmental cheese, grated Procedures: - Preheat the oven to 220°C , gas mark 7.
- Grease a large ovenproof dish with 1 tablespoon of the butter.
- Cut the potatoes into slices all the way through, but keeping the slices in position so that the potatoes look whole.
- Place the potatoes in the dish close to each others.
- Press down to make the slices fan out slightly.
- Baste with the butter and season with salt and pepper.
- Bake in the oven for 15 minutes.
- Sprinkle over the grated cheese.
- Baste the potatoes with butter.
- Bake in the oven for further 30 minutes until the potatoes are soft inside, golden and crunchy on the outside.
