Thanksgiving Recipes - Sweet Potato Tart

Crust
200 g All-purpose flour
180 g Butter
3/4 teaspoon Salt 

Filling
1 kg Sweet potatoes
150 g Brown sugar
25 cl Milk
1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
1 pinch Ground cloves
1 pinch Ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons Whisky Bourbon (4 Roses for example)
2 tablespoons Butter

Procedures:

  1. To prepare crust. In mixer bowl combine flour, butter, salt and a little water.
  2. Mix at medium speed of electric mixer until crumbly.
  3. Press mixture onto bottom and along sides of 9-inch springform pan. Put in fridge.
  4. To prepare garnish. Cook the sweet potatoes in oven at 190°C/374°F for 45 minutes to 1 hour until soft.
  5. Peel the skin off. Cut in slices. Using a food processor, process potatoes until mashed.
  6. Using electric beaters, combien eggs and sugar until creamy.
  7. Add milk, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon and whisky.
  8. Finally add the sweet potatoes and mix until well combined.
  9. Pour sweet potatoes mixture into crust. Bake 10 minutes at 220°C/428°F and then 40 minutes at 160°C/320°F.
