Halloween Recipes - Poisoned Pears

Ingredients:
4 Fresh pears
1 Lemon
2 Cinnamon sticks
250 g Sugar
250 ml Water
Vanilla ice cream

Sauce
40 g Cocoa
80 g Sugar
100 ml Water

Procedures:

  1. Wash the lemon and squeeze the juice. 
  2. Peel the pears, do not remove the stalks.
  3. Brush pears with lemon juice to prevent discolour.
  4. Make the syrup. Mix the water and sugar and bring to the boil. 
  5. Stir slowly until the sugar has melted.
  6. Add the cinnamon sticks and pears, simmer until soft.
  7. Set aside and allow to cool.
  8. Make the sauce. Mix the cocoa, sugar and water in a pan.
  9. Bring to the boil, lower the heat and simmer for 5 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
  10. Place one pear on a serving plate, scope the ice cream and put around the pear.
  11. Pour the sauce over the pear and ice cream.
