Halloween Recipes - Stuffed Mummies

Ingredients:
40 g Grain rice
300 ml Milk
1 White cabbage
3 tablespoons Butter
2 Eggs
150 g Minced beef
150 g Minced pork
1 Onion, finely chopped
Salt and freshly ground white pepper to taste
2 tablespoons Syrup
150 ml Stock
3 tablespoons Soya sauce
1 teaspoon Arrowroot

Procedures:

  1. Boil the rice in 150 ml milk until form a thick porridge. 
  2. Preheat the oven to 250°C, gas 10.
  3. Seperate the cabbage leaves and wash.
  4. Mix water with little salt, bring to the boil.
  5. Put cabbage leaves into the boiling water for few second and remove immediately. 
  6. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a pan. Add the onions and saute.
  7. Mix the onions, rice, eggs, beef, pork and milk together.
  8. Add the salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Apply little butter on an ovenproof dish.
  10. Put 1 to 2 tablespoons of the mixture on to each cabbage leaf.
  11. Fold and roll it into small parcels, make it look like mummy.
  12. Place the mummies on the dish.
  13. Melt 1 tablespoon butter and pour on top of the mummies.
  14. Pour the syrup on top of the mummies.
  15. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, keep turning the mummies to brown evenly.
  16. Mix stock with 2 teaspoons soya sauce and pour on top of the mummies.
  17. Bake for further 30 minutes.
  18. Put mummies on a serving plate and keep warm.
  19. Make the sauce. Pour the remaining sauce into a pan.
  20. Mix arrowroot with a little cold water and pour into the pan.
  21. Bring to the boil and stir well.
  22. Add salt, pepper and soya sauce to taste.
  23. Pour the sauce on top the mummies before serve.
