Halloween Recipes - Stuffed Mummies Ingredients: 40 g Grain rice 300 ml Milk 1 White cabbage 3 tablespoons Butter 2 Eggs 150 g Minced beef 150 g Minced pork 1 Onion, finely chopped Salt and freshly ground white pepper to taste 2 tablespoons Syrup 150 ml Stock 3 tablespoons Soya sauce 1 teaspoon Arrowroot Procedures: - Boil the rice in 150 ml milk until form a thick porridge.
- Preheat the oven to 250°C, gas 10.
- Seperate the cabbage leaves and wash.
- Mix water with little salt, bring to the boil.
- Put cabbage leaves into the boiling water for few second and remove immediately.
- Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a pan. Add the onions and saute.
- Mix the onions, rice, eggs, beef, pork and milk together.
- Add the salt and pepper to taste.
- Apply little butter on an ovenproof dish.
- Put 1 to 2 tablespoons of the mixture on to each cabbage leaf.
- Fold and roll it into small parcels, make it look like mummy.
- Place the mummies on the dish.
- Melt 1 tablespoon butter and pour on top of the mummies.
- Pour the syrup on top of the mummies.
- Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, keep turning the mummies to brown evenly.
- Mix stock with 2 teaspoons soya sauce and pour on top of the mummies.
- Bake for further 30 minutes.
- Put mummies on a serving plate and keep warm.
- Make the sauce. Pour the remaining sauce into a pan.
- Mix arrowroot with a little cold water and pour into the pan.
- Bring to the boil and stir well.
- Add salt, pepper and soya sauce to taste.
- Pour the sauce on top the mummies before serve.
